I want to install a omega au-rec-4lx remote starter(I have one new in box but it doesn't have any remotes) , i want to install it in my 97' Volvo 850 t5. I currently have no oem remote for the car since I recently purchased it without them too. I am unsure how this omega works since I cannot find a manual online so I figured to ask here.
My Volvo remotes are expensive 99$ for a new one and 62$ for a used one with worn buttons. I was thinking that I could install this omega remote starter and then purchase a cheap omega remote to unlock/lock/start the car. Is that possible? Or do I have to use the OEM Volvo remote for this? The Volvo has a guardian 2 stock alarm on it and its already setup for a the stock remote. The alarm is bypassed by a negative unlock pulse. Someone said that's how you program the remote start unlock/ start / wait 10 sec / lock.
If the omega remote start needs the volvo remote hen will these stores that say remote starters installed for 99$ , will they include remotes that will lock and unlock and start the car?
I don't want to spend 99$ on a OEM Volvo remote that only locks and unlocks the car when I can get a remote start that does that and more for the same price.
Bla bla bla

Answer is Yes. Find a OEM remote fob.
