Good day to all,
I went for a drive to the city today to check out my options to upgrade my system. I currently have a mtx 6001 amp (300rms) i believe, and 2 kenwood 10'' exceleon oversize subs. My current amp is approx 10 years old, and the subs are approx 1 year old. I figured that with the ever changing technology, I'd have some options with an amp upgrade. When talking to the sales fella', he suggested the rockford R1200. He said my subs would handle the amp no problem. He quoted me at $850 plus tax.
When I got home I started looking around online, and just about every site I looked at, advertised the same amp for MUCH less. What gives? Perhaps I misunderstood the amp he was telling me about or what?
Thanks

On the dealer website it's only $400! I know shops have overhead and all, but that's just a stupid price. I would try another shop quickly.

It's quite hard to believe the difference. I found it on amazon cheaper, and one other site. I'll just order online and get it that way. Hopefully it'll accomplish what I'm looking for.

I assume he was saying 850 installed. Not sure exactly without knowing the entire conversation. Seems like there was more added to it than that.

Thanks for the replies. When he came back to tell me that he didn't have it in stock, I then asked him how long it would take to get in, and how much. That was the extent of the conversation.
