Trying to program another remote to a Astrostart 392-127-300.
Astrostart 392-127-300 -- posted image.
It does NOT have a hoodpin. So I tried the guide in this thread: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=110314
No luck.
How do I program another remote? It's a JSF-TX903

According to this post: astroflex mv, no model number
Its a Astrostart 903U So try this:
CODE LEARNING OF ADDITIONAL TRANSMITTER(S)
Four different remote controls can be programmed for a given vehicle. If a fifth remote is added, the first remote is deleted.
Note: When the first code learning command is sent, all the old codes are cleared out. Therefore if you want to add a new
remote, all the old ones must be reprogrammed as well.
One or more remote transmitters can be added. To do this, programming is accessed as follows:
ƒ Open hood.
ƒ Insert key in the ignition and turn to the RUN position.
ƒ Apply the brakes once.
ƒ You now have 10 seconds to turn the key from RUN to the STOP position 3 times.
ƒ If this sequence is correctly carried out, the control module flashes parking lights (4 flashes). You may then
proceed to the next step.
ƒ Press any button on the new remote control. When access code of new remote control is memorized, the
control module will confirm with flashing parking lights (1 flash).
ƒ Repeat the above procedures for each remote control that has to be programmed (up to 4 remotes).
ƒ Apply the brakes.
New remote(s) is (are) now added to the system.

Would like to piggyback on this thread
Bought a truck with an astrostart hst5224 (392-127-319 I think, xrt model)
The transmitter LCD is broken so I ordered a viper 7701v, which I thought would be a direct replacement, it has the same part numbers on the back. It came in today and I can't program it. I'm assuming it runs on a different frequency.
I took both transmitters apart and swapped the board with the antenna out, congratulating myself for being a genius and not having to try to return this new piece. Still no go.
Is there anything I can do to get this to work or will I have to pay double for an authentic astrostart transmitter?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the hijack.

You would need to replace the antenna with the SST antenna designed to work with the 7701v. As the Coding used in Canada is different than the USA in the older models prior to the Supercode rollout which is approved in both the the USA and Canada. Which include the 1-way Supercode 6111T, 2-way LE Responder 6211T, and the LCD LC3/HD SST 6711T systems. A 1-way 6111T remote will work with any of the above antenna's and the 6111T antenna can be replaced with either of the 2 way antenna to upgrade to 2-way and LCD remotes.
6701T Responder SST 2 Way Receiver Antenna is for your remote. Should work with your system but not tested to work or guaranteed.
The only issue I have had with 6711T antenna swaps is having to have a 1-way remote to program first before the 2 -way LCD would pair with out failure.

Just wanted to report back. I took the remote apart and found out that there was and IC chip missing. Ordered a new remote, and these instructions do work. Thanks!
