Why is compustar held so high in regards to other brands . Is it really that much better for the price . I usually install dei and prestige .

Not sure if the price is that much better. Compustar gives you flexibility with the control module and remotes
being separate items. This also allows easier remote upgrades. Their business association with iDatalink gives
them D2D compatibility with great bypass modules. The iDatalink Blade cartridge capability in their high end units
makes installs fast and neat. The major advantage is their reliability in past years compared to all the issues
DEI has had with various parts of their product line and offerings.
Of course, things are changing. Audiovox Prestige has definitely stepped up their game recently and their offerings
are very good. The new All-in-one products coming to market are moving installers away from the old R/S module and
bypass module pairings. Simple and fast CAN Bus modules provide quick solutions. But the manufacturers are finally
giving customers what they want directly from the factory with a factory warranty so the 12 Volt industry is struggling
a bit.
As a seasoned installer, you know the product line of the manufacturers you deal with and can make good customer
recommendations to provide reliable solutions within the product lines you carry. Good word of mouth and repeat
business mean a lot. I like Compustar and we should always be open to give a quality manufacturer a trail but you
should go with the whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Soldering is fun!

I see . So it's more of a customer service after the sale . In my area everyone wants cheap price . I would like to add compustar but they are are not willing to spend the extra cash . I would like the ability to change out separate components .

I've been installing DEI, Code, and Audiovox for almost 20 years. I've only experimented with compustar over the last few years and absolutely love using them. Take a look through the guide and you'll find that they thought of everything. With that being said, I agree about pricing. I explain all the benefits but no one wants to spend the money.

Been doing Compustar for over 13 years now and love them as well. I install all brands but I only offer Compustar to my customers. It's a premium brand but I tell customers about the lifetime warranty and I offer lifetime for my installations and that usually sells them on it since most of my customers keep their vehicles for 5+ years or they like to transfer their RS systems from vehicle to vehicle.
Installer options are really good as well on the CM7200 CPU's and the ability to have the Blade bypass is great especially when customs do the vehicle upgrades, they're not giving up a starter that is designed specifically for one platform manufacturer.
