I am working on a car that seems to die or get power sucked out when the key is turned. The radio was stolen from the car and now this has been happening. The power from the battery is being drained somewhere but I can't figure out from where. It's a 1996 Honda accord. Please help if anyone has any ideas.

Umm maybe i'm missing something but isn't that the way it's supposed to work? Whenever you have the key in the On position all the vehicle's electronics are running. Or did you mean it drains even when the key is not in the ignition?

Might wanna check that the vehicle does not have the bose sound system, and that the power antenna is not trying to move constantly (you would be able to hear the motor).

with the key off pull the positive battery cable, put an ammeter inline and check for a reading. If you get a reading then pull 1 fuse at a time and then re-insert it. Check the meter as you pull each fuse, when it drops significantly you at least have the circuit that is causing the problem. Then trace out all possibilities in that circuit. help battery is being drained -- posted image.

maybe an alternator problem..mayby the radio being stolen is just a coincidence...

Or it could simply be either a bad battery, or even bad battery terminals or cables. Check them all really good.
