I am making a lamp for my cabin using a brand new, high power LED vehicle fog lamp bulb(very long story) and a crystal bowl as the lampshade.
Although the bulb was very expensive from a uk high st.retailer Halfords, it has no markings with polarity, and both spade connectors are identical.
Plus there is nothing noting it's wattage or amperage. (I cannot take it back just yet I live in France 600 miles from the shop. I need light to work by)
I have a switch, and a cig lighter socket and plug but need to know how big a fuse to add. I have a standard multimeter. I am not clued up about electronics at all but I do understand the absolute basics.
Also, most frustratingly, I have read that LED vehicle bulbs have to match polarity so how do I tell which way to wire it? If I guess incorrectly the first time, will it damadge the bulb?
I am using my own spade connections, not vehicle lamp fittings.
