Having a problem getting a VSM300 to work with my DB3 in D2D mode. I have a 2017 Toyota 4Runner Limited with Push to Start. Remote start function works great by pressing 3x lock.

However when I connect the D2D wire to the DB3, only the amber light on the VSM300 module turns on. There is no green light. I bought the module prewired, and the grey wire appears to be connected to the black wire of the 4pin module. See enclosed picture.

Would disconnecting the grey wire and connecting it to a true body ground fix the problem? Or is there something else I’m missing?
