LED lights dont work when added and other

ok, I searched with no answers found I have a 1995 Cadillac fleetwood. I upgraded all the lights to LED except for the 4 amber blinkers under the head lights. normally, you get hyperflashing, I tried resistors but they get extremely hot and didnt work either, removed them right away. I got a turn signal flasher relay and emergency light flasher relay made for LED's and no longer have hyperflash I have two issues. 1. they run the cruise control through the 3rd brake light, if the bulb burns out or is removed, then the cruise control doesnt work. with the LED's the cruise control will not activate. would love to be able to solve this 2. the reason I havent changed the front blinkers is when I install them, the blinkers no longer flash or even come on. any help is mucho appreciated

For item 1, the sensing circuit needs to see a path to ground that has a lower impedance than the LEDs are providing. Put a resistor in parallel with the LEDs. You might need to experiment, but in similar situation I have found that even a 2K resistor has solved the problem. Try lower values if 2K doesn't work.

1) Eguru is probably right. On my old Buick I just put wired a relay coil in parallel with the LED bulbs (had plenty of old relays lying around). Since it was at the back of the car, I didn't hear it click when I stepped on the brakes. 2) The polarity may need to be reversed for your LED bulbs. Take some measurements with your meter and note which wires get power/ground in the factory harness. Then using a 12 volt battery and a couple test leads, see what polarity your new LED bulbs need. Make whatever modifications necessary to duplicate this on the vehicle (swap pins, etc.).My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

I wont lie, this is not my strong suit. a picture or a little more detail would greatly be appreciated for the resistors, if im getting this correct. Ill install them on the power side for each 3rd brake lightLED. for the other lights ill go check it out in a bit.

To try a resistor, just connect one end to one wire at the third brake light, and connect the other end to the other wire of the same bulb socket. You can strip the wire back a bit without cutting it and twist your resistor leads temporarily. Cover it with tape so it doesn't short circuit. After you find something that works, you can remove your tape and make it permanent by adding some solder. Then cover it back up with tape.My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
