2011 Kia Rondo Car Stereo Wiring

Hi all,
Got a bit of an odd-duck vehicle here. The 2011 was only sold in Canada so finding info for it has been difficult. Our OEM head unit (FCID W808MYAL3208) died long ago. We finally got a cheap radio to replace it. Initially, we just plugged the OEM harness directly into the stereo and had limited success. The system worked with the exception of keeping presets. So we took it out, cut off the original harness connector, and since then we haven't been able to get the unit to power up. We already know that the yellow wire from the Kia does NOT equal the yellow wire for the stereo, but we're wondering if there are any other discrepancies? All the new stereo needs for power is black, red, yellow, and blue. The OEM harness also had brown, turquoise and black-brown striped.

Thanks! So any idea what the turquoisey wire at pin 1 on the grey plug is? And based on EIA standards, should this be my connection interface?

I do not see any mention of a factory amplifier turn on wire in your chart. Directechs has a green wire for amp turn on. That may be a light green or maybe turquoisey

Thanks very much for your wiring help; I got the stereo working! However, tonight, after dark, we discovered we no longer have instrument cluster illumination. :( I checked the fuses and all appear to be in order. I've read some things suggesting that the unconnected black-orange striped wire may be the culprit? If I connect it to ground it may resolve the dash light issue? Can anyone confirm or offer alternative advice?

Turn the lights on and check for +12 volts on the car's yellow wire. Chances are there will be no voltage on that wire. You have a blown fuse. Do not ground the dimmer wire.
