thanks for any help in advanced,
im looking into hooking up a Kenwood dnx693s radio I have all the correct harnesses and also the factory USB adapter. what im trying to figure out is the correct wire to use the factory back up camera to the new radio, it has the yellow video wire and also the reverse wire. do I have to connect that wire to the reverse light or is there a wire I can tap into to do this? I also got the camera step down since its a 6v not a 12v.
any help will be appreciated thank you very much.
Jay.

Are you connecting a camera that came with the vehicle or is it also new?
If it is an existing camera, use a meter to determine if the reverse wire is already receiving 12V from an existing connection to the reverse lights. If not, you will need to make that reverse light connection to feed power to the camera and to the HU to tell it when to enable the display to connect to the camera video feed.
