I recently changed my am/fm factory to an am/fm/cd/cassette factory. I have a 2003 silverado. I get a calibration error message everytime I turn on the radio. The manual says to take it to the dealer for calibration. Is there a way for me to do this and if I don't what happens?

the only thing i can think of is the calibration for the cd player's laser is off, u need specialized equipment to adjust a laser, but then this is only  idea im not positive that is what it means, but im fairly sure u can't fix it yourself

this is a simple test may work may not...
unplug the radio and take it out and shake it a little. also when you put the radio back in and dont connect the antenna wire. see if the radio turns on if not you have a bad ground. ground a wire between the radio on a screw or something and then use a tapping screw and ground it to chassis. then plug antenna in and test call dealer and ask him if there is a way to reset the radio.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
