Hi,

I am installing power door locks and I can't seem to find an unfused 12+ connection under my dash. It's a 1998 Hyundai Tiburon.

If anyone knows where I can find one it would be much appreciated (my harness with the door lock relays has a inline 20amp fuse in it). The only other thing I can think of is run a new wire through the firewall and to the battery.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Cody Watkins

unfused? why?

Just get your constant from the ignition harness.

I was thinking unfused because i want it fused at 20amps (according to the back of the box).

Is the constant 12+ on the ignition harness fused at a certain amperage ?

Thanks

Just use the main power wire in the ignition harness. If you are really worried about it then go to the battery.

Im sure its fused somewhere, as far as the size of fuse, I couldnt even guess.  I would think that your 20a fuse-wired as close to the connection you make would suffice.  I dont think you will find that many/if any, factory runs of 12v.  Like auex said, if you want unfused, got directly to the battery or distro block under the hood.

For power door locks, hit the 12V constant in the ignition harness...it's fused, but there ain't no way that you should trip that fuse....if you do, you're shorting out somewhere. I used to install Mobile Data Terminals in Cars and Trucks...they took almost 30 amps..and we always tagged The Constant in the Ignition harness...
