Hello everyone, so i am having an issue installing an after market radio on my 2010 F-150 KING RANCH WITH SONY SOUND, with sync but no navigation. I don't want to keep the sync, nor the steering wheel controls. I told this to the sales man at a local car audio shop and he gave me a harness that consists of two plugs. The factory radio uses three plugs one plug has a 22 pin, 16 pon and 8 pin plugs. The harness i got is for the 22 pin and for the 8 pin plug. I wired the 22 pin harness to the radio color to color. Except for the amp turn on wire. I wired the radios amp turn on wire to the 8 pin harness blue/white wire. The red wire from the radio was wired to a switched power wire from fuse box. So radio would turn off when ignition turned off. The issue is that when i wired everything it worked. But i unplugged the harness again so i could plug the factory radio back to remove cds from it and when i plugged in the aftermarket radio everything worked except that now im not getting any sound from the speakers. What could be? Using wrong harness and just got lucky or do i need a different harness. I don't want to keep sync nor steering wheel controls. Just want to keep factory speakers, woofer and amps.

What is the chance that you powered up system with factory radio, then left key on, unplugged factory and connected aftermarket radio? If the amplifier has a digital on / off system, the amp will turn on when it sees the signal from the radio and remain on till it sees the off command or till the key is turned off.

yes, i had the switch open, and when i swap the radios i never turned the switch off. So if that is the case, would that mean that i will need to get the special wiring harness and not the harness that i have?
