So I am working on my van computer and I want to control and monitor my Python 2 way alarm RS with the Raspberry Pi alongside the remote. I already have the majority of the code working on the PI to give me output wires for arm, disarm, and start to send to the python, in addition to monitoring the horn, lock, and unlock wires from the python to give me confirmations. The Python has an activation input wire for the remote start but I need to figure out how to arm and disarm the system with analog signals. I originally soldered these wires to a 1 way python remote and it did work however it didn't work everytime, so I decided to look into a more direct connection option. I was hoping the arm and disarm input wires on the Fortin Evo-all would work but Fortin just emailed me back stating these wires will not control the python. I wasn't sure if there was any device out there (similar to the smartstart) that would communicate between my Raspberry Pi and the Python alarm/RS giving me this control. I thought I remember seeing something that would connect inline with the antenna or into the D2D port that would convert analog signals into the DEI communication language that the alarm would understand. I'm not even totally opposed to opening up the Python brain and soldering directly to the board if someone knows exactly what I would have to do and could explain it in detail.
I don't want to use a smart start or any other cellular controlled device, I will already have cellular capabilities in the PI. possibly the bluetooth smart start device (the raspberry pi has bluetooth) but I am not sure how to make that work with the Pi as it doesn't use traditional android apps. I will keep researching, just thought if someone knows how to do this and can save me some time and money, I would appreciate the help.
