So i have been having the most frustrating 7 months or so with my stereo install and need some help here.I am on other forums related to cars and such and i have searched forums and other internet pages and cannot find a solution.I have even been in touch with Crutchfield and were not much help although they have alot of great people over there. I installed a Sony XAV-AX1000 radio,Kicker sub and amp.Ran all new wires.I have a 2010 Acura TL-SH and anyone who knows Acuras know with ELS Sound System its just a pain in the ass.By-passed the factory amp and ran all new speaker wires. So,my issue is the radio turning off by itself and sometimes it will just turn back on or wont turn on at all. When i completed the install everything worked great for 2 months.I could play my music at any volume until one night i turned it up and the radio turns off.Funny thing is it doesnt whenever it wants.Just earlier the volume was very low and it just turned off and hasnt turned back on.The home button just blinks and blinks.Turning the car off then on doesnt do anything. When this first happened i pulled the radio out and i checked every wire.I even took them apart and reconnected them.Checked the ground from the deck and made sure its nice and tight.Double checked wire diagrams and everything is wired right.I even took the sub and amp out of the circuit and just ran the radio by itself.Still turned off at high volume.Anyone have any idea what would do this? Kinda losing my mind over this.I will not pretend to be an audio expert, but ive installed stereo systems on all of my cars and some friends cars so i have a little knowledge.

My guess is a blown speaker. Disconnect them one at a time to identify which one it is.
If that doesn't identify a bad speaker, it is probably the Sony.

Blown speaker was a thought.I am starting to think its just a garbage radio i purchased.A tech over at Crutchfield mentioned something about speaker impedance.Im not to knowledgable with the technical side of this.

i can tell you exactly what it is...its a Sony. That model has been nothing more than a battle since it has come out. I think every one i have installed has come back with in 2-3 months/days. When it is in our bay it will turn off by itself, usb won't work, touch screen doesn't work, apple car play the maps will freeze or back up cam will freeze and have to reset it every other day. I have seen every problem under the sun with these. I wouldn't sell Sony deck to my worst enemy. Have to watch lower end alpine decks as well, there made by Sony. Make sure it has the most recent update on it as well.

33 years as a installer now just a retired old guy. Favorite thing to install/topic are remote starts/car alarms. Stop using test lights!!!
