My car had revved up automatically when turning off my air conditioning. Seemed like my vehicle was about to shut off. I'm assuming that is not okay. Am I right? If so, what could be the issue?

It had dropped close to 250RPMs, then revved up a little over 1000RPMs. It is no longer doing so now. I feel like it happened because I was using the AC while in park for a good amount of time. Maybe that is why?

When the AC compressor is on the car slightly revs the engine so the strain of the compressor does not kill the engine when it is idling. Possibly a solenoid was stuck and did not disengage when the compressor turned off. 1000 rpm is nothing to worry about.
