ok guys.... this is an appendage to the closed forum https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=6029&KW=mazda+tribute
6 months later this car is still a thorn in my side..... never in my 12 years have I come across a car like this one. heres the latest:
today we did a code alarm tw-1 in this car to replace the code alarm f/60 we did last year.   long story short the install came out great with no problems.... but upon testing the system we encountered the following:
lights flash only when driver door is open
car starts only when driver door is open
cannot get it into tach learn mode
because this car is bascally a computer on wheels, do you think I should just throw in the towel on this one or could there be another way out? I am leaning toward a possible electrical problem with the car, and/or a conflict with the factory keyless system.
please please please help me on this one.... i am so burnt out with this car. lucky for me the customer is understanding and patient.

Did you use the DOME LIGHT WIRE or the DOOR TRIGGER wire to catch the door ? The Dome light circuit rests at (-) & it open when the door is open but the door trigger itself is a (-) trigger that rests at 12 volts.
