Hi everyone, I'm hoping you can help me out here. I recently purchased a 2004 Subaru Forester XT that I believe has an Ultrastart 1250 installed on it. It came with one key fob that says ultra on it, there is an Ultrastart sticker under the hood, and there was a small user guide in the owners manual folder. Unfortunately I did not buy the car from the previous owner so I could not get history on the system. When I got the Forester the key fob did not work at all. I replaced the battery and I can see the led blink when a button is pressed, but nothing happens with the car. My first thought was to try to pair the fob with the system again, thinking it may have been dead for so long it could have forgotten the fob or something like that. In reading through the 12xxx series install guide, it says there is a button on the antenna that must be pressed when trying to connect a remote. I can not find this antenna! The install guide suggest placing it behind the rearview mirror, on the windshield but I do not see it there. I also have been unable to locate it under that dash. Any suggestions where the antenna might be located? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

System may have been completely removed. Start by looking under drivers side dash for a black ultrastart brain with wires zip tied to factory harnesses. Antenna could also be tied up in there with the brain and was never ran up to the windshield. May have to remove the knee panel cover below the steering wheel if it is not visible.
