Figured I'd ask before I went ripping my harness apart.
The instructions regarding the defroster output is confusing.
During the 24 pin main harness descriptions it says Blue / White - 2nd Status Output/ Defogger (see blah blah later on for more information)
Then, in the Program System Features section under 2nd Status Output is says (dark blue on the 24 pin harness) is the defogger.
So, I noticed this and decided to try the dark blue and I tested it seeing that it's defaults to Normal which is latched during remote start. So I soldered everything up because it turned on when I remote started then proceeded to solder, ziptie & loom.
Then I go to change it from 1 chirp to 2 chirps because my defogger btn is latched and.. it changes in the menu (confirmed by chirps) but then I remote start it and it comes like it's on Normal. (Too hot for it to be the thermostat.)
I'm guessing I messed up and need to connect it to the blue / white? Just asking here because I'm sure somebody has ran into this. Just trying to save myself some headache.

Yep, that is another typo in the 5305V Install Guide.
The Dark Blue (-) Status Output wire at Pin 5 of 24 is only Status Output. It comes on a second before Ignition during a remote start and stays on the entire programmed run time of 12, 24 or 60 minutes.
The Blue/White at Pin 2 of 24 is programable to 3 different options. The default is the same as Pin 5, Status Output. The 2 Defrost options are Latched for 10 minutes and a single 1 second pulse. Both of these happen about 10 seconds after the vehicle is running under a remote start, if the cabin temperature is below 55 degrees F.
The Pin 2 Defrost delay time is to allow the engine to have full power during cranking.
If you are running the Defrost during a remote start, using the Blue/White wire is the best choice ( with proper programming ).
Soldering is fun!
