1992 Chevy G20
HI, I'm trying to find the ignition wires. The vehicle wiring found on this site says their located at the ignition harness. (1989-93 Chevrolet Van (fullsize) Alarm Information) All the videos show the thick ignition wires to be somewhere under the steering column but I don't see any that resemble what I've seen on videos. Their just skinny wires which surely aren't the ignition wires? The only place I can find what looks like they could be ignition wires is behind the radio tucked up near the firewall there is a bundle of wires in the black wrap. Any help with describing where these wires are would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong forum.
1992 Chevy G20. Looking for ignition wires. More specifically ignition 1 & 2 for installing a remote start.
Thx
Travis

Where is the key cylinder? Dash or steering column? The following wire colors will be in the harness. That harness will be connected to the key cylinder.
12 Volts      red      +      ignition harness
Ground      (chassis ground)
Starter      yellow or violet      +      ignition harness
Ignition      pink      +      ignition harness
Accessory      orange      +      ignition harness

The ignition switch is on the top side of the steering column, under dash of course. May find it easier to remove dash trim and instrument cluster to gain access.

Ok found the ignition harness. Had to remove the dash and instrument cluster like you said. My next question is the remote start has ignition 1 and ignition 2. I dont see an ignition 2 on the vehicle side. just an accessory wire. would this be the wire to connect to ignition 2 wire on the remote starter?

If your remote start has an accessory wire connect it to the orange wire as described above. If no accessory wire then yes ignition 2 connection is fine.

After getting everything hooked up and successfully going through the crimestopper setup procedure.
(program Tach reference,& optional programming)
2 things
1- My parking lights won't turn off.
I tied into the brown wire at the light switch but still no matter what I do they won't turn off. My keyless entry system is tapped into the same wire & has no problem.
2-After attempting a remote start i could not get the starter to crank over.hit remote start button and ignition & everything turns on like it's supposed to but then that's all it does. I double checked my start activation wire (keyless entry aux output to crimestopper green wire) and it's got a solid connection. I'm starting to think I got a defective remote starter unit.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I should also mention it starts right up with the key so I'm pretty sure everything checks out on vehicle side. Im going to double check my starter wire tap again just to make sure that's Not it.

Got starter on violet
I got ignition 1 on pink
And no accessory Wire from module but do have ignition 2 which is on orange. Do these older Chevy require a 2nd ignition 1 or 2?
The module has a (-) ignition output
that I don't have hooked up because the manual states this is only needed if vehicle requires a 2nd ignition 1or2 to activate to run properly.
I've attached what I believe is a similar wiring diagram for the ignition switch.
And this is where I'm at so far
When I attempt a remote start everything turns on like if I were to have key in the on position
I hear some click clicks on the module and that's it. I double checked my starter output wire & it's good. Whick makes me believe maybe a 2nd ignition 1or2?
I attached a Pic of what I believe is a similar wiring diagram
Thx for all your help guys!
If I can get this figured out I will definitely be hitting that donate button.
