Alpine ILX W650, Owner Feedback

Going to pick up an Alpine ILX W650 today. For an inexpensive head unit, this would be considered alright for sound quality right? I have only had one Alpine head unit in the past, the CDA 9886 back in 2009, I didn't really think it was that impressive back then. If anyone has had this head unit or currently is using the ILX W650 could you please leave your input? This is going in a 2014 Kia Sportage LX without a factory amplifier, navigation. This vehicle from the factory has a backup camera and steering wheel controls. The Alpine would be replacing the stock head unit with the UVO information. This vehicle is a regular key start.

its a nice head unit. Sold/installed dozens of them at xmas time and have not had one come back. Sound quality is all the same, between alpine pioneer jvc they all sound the same. The boxes are always misleading with 52 watts or what every they put on them, its really only only 17-20 watts. Back up camera will have to be hardwired along with steering wheel controls. Biggest problem is alpine and there not letting you do to many setting with out the parking brake on. Alpine has always done that. Very basic eq kinda sucks as well. but its a nice radio don't really have major complaints about it, there is always gonna be something better out there33 years as a installer now just a retired old guy. Favorite thing to install/topic are remote starts/car alarms. Stop using test lights!!!

Alpine is the only manufacturer that gives you accurate power output specs. It tells you 4 X 18 watts. If you are using it for CarPlay, make sure you have the latest firmware.
