Instead of hassling with another 48-12 voltage converter and dealing with warranty issues I’m thinking of adding a separate AGM deep cycle to power my car audio.

Not drawing crazy amperage. The amp I’m using has a max draw of 40A peak.

I plan on trickle charging it in between uses.

Thinking of getting an 80ah battery.

Anybody see any issues with this set up?

I've done something similar in a boat and it worked great but maybe a voltage monitor so your not running the amp below operating voltage. It might just turn off but I would be worried it could cause damage to the amp.
