I wanted to run this by you guys to ensure that I have it correct. So I have these items that I'm putting into my car:
Innovate LC2 gauge and wideband
Fuel Pressure Gauge
Trans Temp Gauge
Oil Pressure Gauge
SLP Line Lock
DMH dual electric cutouts
Transbrake (uses 2 OEM solenoids GM 24230288 and 24230289. Not sure what amp draw is)
Transbrake activation LED
Dakota GSS-3000 Gear Shift Sending unit
DGS-1 Gear shift indicator
B&M 80842 Aftermarket Shifter
To make the car shift in reverse with this particular transbrake installed, the transbrake solenoids need to be activated, but obviously not for too long as to not cause the solenoid to burn up and fail.
The aftermarket shifter has switches built into it that need to be wired to the factory wiring for reverse backup lights and neutral safety.
Goals:
-Tap into OEM Neutral Safety switch wiring for proper operation of aftermarket shifter
-Tap into NSS wiring so that when car is shifted into reverse, transbrake solenoid activates so that activation button doesn't need pressed each time you have to move the car in reverse
-Momentary switch is used for activating transbrake solenoid while in D3 position.
-Wiring setup so that when activating brake in D3 position, reverse lights don't come on
-LED to tell when transbrake is active
-Factory Neutral safety switch wiring taped into so that rpm jump at idle occurs when shifted out of park, similar to OEM
-12v ignition tapped into at OEM fuse box and routed through relay to split off source to multiple outputs
-4 awg line from battery split to dual 8 awg to provide accessible grounds in cabin, hooked to locations in the diagram labeled "to neg bat"
-8 awg line from battery to provide accessible constant power in cabin, hooked to location in the diagram labeled "to pos bat"
I don't believe a diode is needed to prevent the reverse lights from coming on when the transbrake is being activated in the D3 position. Am I correct in this assumption? Obviously the reverse lights should come on when the car is shifted into reverse.
