During daylight hours many new cars that run Daytime Running Lights (DRL) also have another option that I would like to wire into my truck’s electrical system. That option turns off the DRL lo-beam headlight on the side that the indicators are flashing.
I’m wondering if splicing normally open latching relays into the flasher wires that are triggered closed by the right or left turn would work to turn off the headlight on the flashing side? Or would the latching relay start cycling along with the flasher unit?
It seems like such a simple task but it has me puzzled.
Any help would be appreciated.
TIA

Above diagram with a second relay wired as follows. The wire labeled 12 v out to turning lamps will go to 86 of the second relay. Ground to 85 of second relay. Cut the wire that feeds the DRL and connect one of the wires to 30. Connect the other cut wire to 87A

Hi, your solution seems to want to keep lights ON during the flasher cycle whereas what I want to do is to turn off the daytime running headlight on the side that the indicator is flashing.
I'll try to cobble up a diagram of what I want to do.
Will do this later today. Thanks

The second relay will turn the light off when the blinker is on.
