I’m hoping one of you on here can help me out with a wiring diagram for an 2005 F650 diesel. Specifically the starting circuit. I’m trying to help out a friend with his truck. I have power out from the ignition switch but no power to the starter solenoid. I jump out the solenoid and it starts so that section of the circuit as well as the starter is ok. I need to know where it goes from the ignition switch out. I tried to trace it but it goes up from the column to the top of the dash somewhere. I tried probing down at the transmission range switch but I didn’t get a change on any of the wiring when the key was turned to start.
Thanks Joe

It should go to the neutral safety switch if it is an automatic transmission. If manual transmission there may be a starter relay (other than the solenoid). This relay will also be connected to the clutch switch. If it is a manual transmission and has cruise control there will be 2 switches on the clutch. One switch will change state as soon as the clutch is pressed, the other will change state very near the end of the stroke of the pedal. The latter is the one that will affect the starter circuit. The one that kills the cruise control does that as soon as the clutch is pressed.

Thank you for the reply. It’s an automatic Allison trans. Yea I figured it went through the trans range switch but when I was under the truck and I had someone in it turning the key to the start position. I probed each wire and nothing changed. I have him buying the electrical manual for the truck so I can see the circuit.
