I swapped a Pioneer double din into my older Subie. The original radio had a weather band which I really liked. The very few stand alone WB units are primarily for planes and boats, so absurd $$$. CBs have them, but then you need that massive antenna to use it.
My Pioneer has a rear 3.5mm aux input that I never use. My car has 3 din shelves so still room for the original radio on the bottom, where I would like to use the speaker wires as a line level output into a 3.5mm for the aux and a splitter for the antenna. Only thing I would use it for is the weather band, but no difference in having a scanner or CB.
My question is: is this doable at no threat of damage to my Pioneer? I already bagged a long dash end pigtail for the radio - just not sure what else I need.
Thanks for any input or help.

You will need a line output converter and a 3.5 to rca adapter. Connect the LOC to the left and right speaker wires of the weather radio. Connect the RCA end of the adapter to the output of the LOC. Plug the 3.5 end into the aux in jack of the pioneer. No damage to the pioneer.
Let's Go Brandon Brown. Congratulations on your first Xfinity Series Win. LGBFJB
