I've been looking at two-way FM pager alarms w/ LCD displays. Everything from DEI/Clifford, to Mannix, to Commando, to eBay cheapies, to .... So far I'm leaning towards the Autopage six channel, or the Compustar. Any thing I should know about these alarms? How do they hold up?
Thanks,
Nathanael

go with a dei either the 690 xv which is a two way alarm. only or the 790 xv which is a two way remote start alarm. combo. if you dont go dei. than go for something that is fm technology. autopage sucks, if a alarm cant learn the tach signal on a 2000 honda civic than it sucks and well the autopage 750 lcd could not. on mroe than one car.. i only done about 4 but each time i have had a problem. with that thing is shows as if it learns the signal than it starts like crap. i only use dei stuff now cause atleast dei is reliable. and well i dont care what any one says from most experience with many different types of systems dei stuff is the best.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

It may be hard to believe, but the autopage 750 works best in Voltage checking mode. The Commando is the same as the autopage. I have not installed one of the Commando FM-870's yet, but I have had no problem at all with the FM-760's which is the previous model. If the 870 is anything like the 760, then you will be very happy with it.
I would stay away from the DEI responders though unless you go with a Clifford, but you could buy three of the Commando units for the price of a Clifford. I dont have any personal experience with the responders but I have seen some issues with them while reading through this site.
