Hello all, first post and just signed up. Where was this site years ago. Lots of good info on here.
Will be installing a very basic remote start in my 95 k2500 with no power locks. Question is what do I do about the pwr lock signal wire if the remote start requires the signal to initiate the start?

Have you already purchased a system? Can you return it? Are you planning to install power locks?

Hello, I have already purchased it and no i can't return it. No I was not planning on installing power locks. This is a basic work truck with a basic 1 button remote start system I want to install for this winter.

What is the brand and model remote start, or do you have a link to a manual or diagram?

It's called Auto Command by Design Tech. It only has 500ft range with a single button remote. Got it BNIB never installed. Pretty sure it's atleast 15-20yrs old.

Do you have a model number for the system? In your first post you said it requires a lock signal to initiate the start sequence but in your second post you said it's a 1 button start system. Does the system come with a separate remote?

I will get you the part number when I get home later tonight. It only came with a single remote and one button on it. The way i was reading the instructions, I thought it needed to have a remote door lock wire connected in order to start the truck. Of course my truck does not have that option.

if it came with a remote I wouldn't think it needs to see a lock signal to start. That is typically used when remote start control is wanted from a factory remote.

Ok makes sense so how do I fool the RS in thinking there is a door lock signal then?

Did you find the model number? If you have a remote, it would make sense you don't need a lock wire.
