Hey All,
Picking a fight with a 2007 Nissan Altima and a Compustar / Firstech CM-X remote starter.
The Altima is a manual xmsn with push-to-start. The compustar system is a CM-X with a Blade-AL flashed with the Nissan NI5 firmware and programmed. I installed it using the FST-NSP1 T-harness IAW the installation instructions, making life a bit easier. The RF kit is a Q9 2 way, and because its a stick I needed to install the DASII security module. I soldered in the parking lights and the RAP Shutdown wires into the system. Clutch relay is wired and installed IAW manufactures instructions, however I used the 87 terminal to provide the 12v to the start circuit relay instead of a POC (I used a POC earlier, however the signal and the ASCD relay bypass were not synchronizing, so the car would not even turn over). POC#1 is set for status to provide the ASCD relay signal, and POC#3 is used for the RAP shutdown. Blade-AL was programmed with a factory key and gives the double blue flash when complete.
After remote programming, everything works - locks, unlocks, trunk, valet, etc - except for the actual remote starting.
The CM-X is programmed for hand brake entry and "last door closed" arming (for troubleshooting purposes). I can get the car into reservation mode and locked. When I go to remote start, the car will turn over, run for 1-2 seconds, then stop and re-enter reservation mode. I can do this 2 times before it unlocks and exits reservation mode. I thought it might be a tach signal, so I carried out a tach relearn successfully. Same outcome. I then ran the yellow/black hardwire into the fuel injector and tried again - no change.
To eliminate the DASII module, I cut the transmission loop and reprogrammed the CMX for automatic transmission. I unplugged the DASII module and tried again. I got the same outcome - start, run for 1-2 seconds, then stop and rearm.
Just for funsies, I reprogrammed the Nissan intellikey / transponder to make sure there was only one in the system (the car only came with one key), and that all works to start the car with normally (both with the battery in, and battery removed and key inserted into the keyslot).
I reattached the transmission loop, reprogrammed the CM-X, and tested again with the same results.
I am fresh out of ideas, though my spidey-sense is leaning towards the NATS/NVIS/immobilizer side of the system. Would data collisions also be a culprit between immobilizer/arm/disarm? If anyone has any ideas out there, I would be greatly appreciative.
Cheers

it's the brake switch plug.. there are two plugs, which are identical, the bottom one is for cruise, you want to use the HIGHER one. can always verify using a multimeter/test light.

After much struggle, finally got it figured out.
1) reflashed the AL-Blade to an older firmware version
2) hardwired the E-Brake
3) hardwired the tach. Despite getting a good tach learn via the Blade, it was losing it during the start process and killing the car. Hardwire fixed that.
Thanks for all of your time. Hopefully this helps anyone else in a similar boat.
Cheers
