I seem to be at a loss in my search for a specific relay. It is a standard 5-pin configuration and the 87 and 87a terminals' output switch back and forth when the relay is activated, as is the standard BUT the outputs stay "locked-in" when activated and the power is turned-off. When the relay is activated a SECOND time, it switches outputs to the other output and STAYS locked in THAT output. When switched off and back on, it will revert back to the original output. Years ago we used these to control two outputs from a single SPST toggle switch. Switch on once=output #1 ON (87). Switch off=all off. Same switch on a second time=output #2 ON #87a), and so on and so forth, to toggle between the two circuits. I understand this may have been a special relay and it was in the analog days... (no apps for that). :) Does anyone know of a source for those relays? I remember them being a standard 5-pin arrangement and I know nomenclature changes between parts of the world and regions. I have been told they are "latching" relays, "crossover" relays (although there is no polarity changing-just outputs), "toggle" relays but none of the research I've done specifically denotes the output action I am trying to achieve. I'm open to suggestions and I have exceptional automotive electronics aptitude but this just isn't rocket science. It's a simple relay we used to use, back in the day that I can't seem to locate. Thanx in advance for any help.
