Programing CMX Remote Start For Glow Plugs

installing a remote start on a diesel RTV with glow plugs using CMX-HC with one button one way remote - using only remote start options no door or other security options - My key switch has 4 positions    1. Off    2   acc    3   glow plugs. Which is momentary. You hold key at that point for 5 seconds to run glow plugs than turn key more for start    4   start I have set it up to wait to start (2-03 to FO2 ; DISL to 7 second). And all works good except glow plugs stay on because HCP 3 is set to on What I like it to do is turn on for 7 seconds then turn off again    - my OP500 has no options to change HCP setting - so what i tried doing is this     -set POC1 to AUX1 (POC1 to 10) (blue/white wire)     -set aux1 to "program time" (4.01 to 4)     -set remote trigger        (4.03 to 1)     -aux1 to 5 seconds which should, I assume give me a a neg- output on blue/white wire on CN4 but i get O voltage when I press the button on remote once or twice what am i missing? marwal

I thought of an alternative. If you program it to unlock before, lock after remote start, use the unlock output to latch a relay. That relay powers your glow plug wire. The first relay gets unlatched by a second relay that's triggered by start. Program a 7 second delay for diesel.

Right, that's more than enough to latch the relay I mentioned above. Program 1-01 to F02. Now that I think about it you'd need a third relay since you need 12 volts for the glow plug wire but a ground to latch the relay. This latches unlock output: unlock output to 85, 12 volts constant to 86, ground to 30, a diode from 87 back to 85 with the stripe towards 85. 87 will also trigger your second relay. This converts output of the latched relay to positive for your glow plugs wire: https://www.the12volt.com/relays/relaydiagram8.html Use a third relay to interrupt the latch with the starter wire. 86 to starter, 85 to ground, 30 to one side of the latch, 87a to the other. When you activate remote start, the module sends an unlock pulse. This pulse latches a relay to ground, which triggers your glow plugs relay. This remains active for the 7 second delay you programmed (2-03 to F03) and the latch is broken when the starter wire gets power. *The major drawback to this method is if you accidentally hit the disarm button on your remote (a kid plays with your keys) your glow plugs will stay on until start.*

Another option would be to use something like a PAC TR7 as a timed relay. Use your HCP3 and a relay to convert constant to momentary output: https://www.the12volt.com/relays/relaydiagram44.html Use the pulsed output of this relay to drive the TR7.

Use the "Status" output for the ground at the interrupt relay on Crank. That way the glow plugs will not be able to be activated except by the key in normal operation, or by the Remote Start during a RS. Here's how I would wire two relays: Relay 1: 30 Output to Glowplugs. 87 and diode to 86. Hot with key in RUN. ( Use a diode between 87 and 86, band towards 86.) 85. To Relay 2 87a Relay 2: 30. To Remote Start "Status". (This output goes (-) just prior to Remote Start, and stays active until RS shuts down.) 87a To Relay 1 85. 85 Ground 86 Hot in Crank.

I like Dave's idea better. You will need to latch the starter output though. Otherwise the glow plugs will cut off during start and then resume.

You're right. I missed that. You will need 3 relays, the third one to latch the second one open after cranking.
