I swapped each factory speaker in my car with Rockford Fosgate. The difference is stunning. A dedicated amp and sub handle bass, so I'd like to filter bass from each cabin speaker. The headunit offers crossover capabilities but it's kludgy.
I realize a DSP is the proper widget for my intent, but I want to attempt low-tech, low-cost first by mounting a capacitor at each speaker.
Advice? Recommendations? Anecdotes base on experience?

You didn’t mention the size or impedance of the speakers in your vehicle. A common/popular highpass 6dB passive crossover point for your application is 100Hz.
