while riding around my town with the radio off, it suddenly the motorized face opens . the cd that was in the head unit did not eject. nothing shows on the face. i stopped my vehicle and switched off my ignition the face closed and then switched it back on the face opened, no buttons an the head unit gives any kind of response nothing happens when any buttons are pressed. the cd inside the unit will not eject. while i was trying to remove the head unit i cut the ground wire and the amps powered up, so i connected the ground wire and the amps shut down. if i connect the remote from the amps directly wire to the constant +12 the amps power up. this h/u has been installed now for about two years with no problems, while ridin around with the h/u off it goes dead. can any one help,

Check the wiring for rust, loose connections.Check the fuses. Try resetting the HU. If still no good, take it to a repair shop. I believe the motorized faceplate could be the problem.

Verify that youhave a good power and ground connection for the head unit.  Also, try unplugging the head unit from the vehicle completely (just unplug its wiring harness), wait about a minute or so, then plug it back in and see if that helps at all.
