Blower motor on my 2000 Grand Prix only working on Hi.
Blower switch has five settings 1-5. When I purchased the car used about 7 months ago, the number 1 (low) did not work and 2-5 did work fine. Last week 2,3 and 4 went out and now only high (#5) works.
I'm assuming it may be the resistor pack, where can I locate the resistor pack and what does it look like.
Besides the resistor pack, what else can be the problem.
Thanks in advance,
Wes

It's likely not your resistor stack- that piece is made if some very heavy stainless wire, and would likely cause a meltdown of the suitcase before total failure. I've seen failed ones on GM products, but that's usually a 25+ year old part that has corroded (the connecting terminals) or had been poorly crimped in the first place (extremely rare). After I get off of here, I'm going to look it up, but my money would be on the fan switch or the control panel. What type of HVAC do you have- automatic or manual?

OK Wes- I looked it up, and I have to admit you were right. The manual says that the resistor is the first place to look, and the first piece to replace when your problem crops up.2000 Grand Prix blower motor -- posted image. The resistor is located behind the right side of the dashboard, on the right side of the "control module"- the blower suitcase. It's directly below the motor, say a bit to the right of the console. You will be looking for a connector that is an elongated oval, and has 4 wires- a purple, light blue, tan, and yellow- they all look to be 18gauge. You'll have to remove at least the underdash cover (easy) to get at it.
