I was wondering if anyone knows how i could accomplish this

i am going to be installing an alpine 150r in a 2003 dodge ram i will also be gettin an electric tailgate lock, i was wondering if there is a way i could set it up so that instead of using the regular door lock trigger to lock and unlock the tailgate i could use one of the external outputs of the alarm and some kind of circiutry( eaither home built, or a module) to lock and unlock the tailgate, ie: press button for external output and it locks, press again and it unlocks

and yes i realize this would require me to remember if i locked the tailgate or not, being that it woudl no longer work with the regular locks

thanx

Is this what you're talking about?
It's a remote tailgate lock from Bulldog Security. I guess you could hook it up to an extra channel on your remote.
