I have a 87 190D Turbo, and I ripped out the factory deck, and theres still some wires I want to know what they do, theres like these 4 brown wires that unpluged from the factory deck, and can some one give me some advice on getting rid of that facory fade knob. Thank you.

if there is brown wires that were connected to the bolt on the back of the radio, those are grounds and should be hooked back together.

to get rid of the fader, you would have to trace the factory speaker plug from the radio to the fader. if i remember right, the fader is in the console. the factory speaker plug from the deck looks like a little square plug with a pin and a male spade terminal.

the factory fader is not a series type, so it does not cut down on the volume of the deck. i would just leave it in its place.

ex 12 year car stereo, alarm techie.

make sure all of those brown wires don't have some other color tracer on them or that one of them is not possibly red, as far as getting rid of that fade knob your two choices are to take the console apart and trace the wires to the small speaker distribution box from the fade switch or a much easier way would be to just run new wires from the radio to the speakers

My mechanic told me, "I couldn't fix your brakes, so I made your horn louder"
