radio sound too soft

I have a head unit sony xplod dcx-4800x. Everytime I on the radio I need to turn the volume to max in order to hear the radio. If I on the CD the, the volume would functioning to normal. Any idea what's going on?

check your antenna connection....sounds like it might not be plugged in well....other than that it would most likely be a bad tuner in the radio

The antenna was well plugged in. Anyone any idea to repair the tuner?

My tuner was actually CDX-4800X sorry for the error.

Check the head unit's ground connection.  Also, if your vehicle has factory amplifiers make sure the sony's amp remote wire is properly hooked up to your vehicle's wiring.  What kind of vehicle is it?

I have an aftermarket amplifier and my vehicle is Proton wira a Malaysia National car. I have recently found out that when the antenna is down the volume is OK but the sound quality is poor. If the antenna is up the volume need to be max in order to hear the sound. Does speaker have any to do with this?

is your antena power if so you may have a short in the motor cause feed back

I have a coaxial antenna. How do I check my antenna to confirm that it is good?
