Building A Sub Enclosure

Hey everyone,

I resently designed to build my own sub enclosure for my car. I measured everything out perfectly, to suit my cars interior space and design, and cut of the panels out of 3/4"MDF. Now comes the actual "building" part.

What I want to know is, what is the best way to put it all together??

Like, what kind of glue (woodglue most likely, but specfic brands, maybe), and should I nail or screw the boards together, should I line the inside/outside with something, what I should use to seal the seams (i remeber hearing something about NOT using Silicone), what type of carpet I should wrap it in, that sort of stuff.

(Also, if anyone has made a custom FIBERGLASS enclosure and can give me some tips or knows of a Website somewhere that can outline the steps,  Id really appreciate it.)

Look in the SEARCH files and type in FIBERGLASS ENCLOSURES for more information on how to for fiberglass enclosure. As far as materials and fastener's, I like to use my air nailer and normal wood glue to get started. After I have all the walls done except the top, I use Polyurathane caulking to seal the box up. For the top, I caulk a line of Polyurathane on the inside edge and also squeeze some glue on the outside edge and place the top on and air nail it in place.

Screws are not that good unless you are pre drilling all the holes and you are working with 3/8 or thicker wood. You will most likely split the wood it your not exactly square with the wood & the screw.
