i am the proud owner of a 1990 jeep cherokee, and i just got done installing a fai-300 alarm unit, and i know i did one thing kinda wrong on the install: i hooked my dome light wire for the alarm to the floor passenger light no biggy really, because if someone gets in my front doors the alarm goes off, but if they go in the rear doors thier home free unless they try to start the jeep or set off the vibration sensor, anyways i was wondering if i should look into buying another alarm unit with remote start, i don't know of how complicated it would be, because you have to hook a wire upto a sparkplug or something of the sort, heres the unit http:///.com/ebaymotors/dll?ViewItem&category=33724&item=2419574237

i have herd the horror stories of people ruining their ignition systems but im pretty anal when it comes to hooking stuff up correctly, so please tell me if you think it is worth getting the remote start.

The system that you have a link to on eBay is not any better than the FAI 300 you have now. It's a cheaply made system that you will likely have moer problems with than not. If you are wanting to add a remote starter system to the FAI 300 you have, just make sure that it has an impact disable wire so when you remote start the Jeep, it doesn't set off the alarm system.

Just make suer the system you are getting has all the available options you want and if you are wanting tio install it yourself, make sure that the company will honor the warranty if you end up shorting out the system when installing it or even if you install it correctly and something malfunctions 6 months down the road that your warranty is still good. Some manufacturer's do not honor the warranty at all if you install it yourself and the problem is the product itself.
