OK, I am going to install some neons (2), and I was thinking about tapping into the glove box light.... would it be powerful enough to power 2 neons tubes? 1 is a 9" and the other is a 6", I was thinking about tapping into the cig lighter, but my car only has 1 and i need it for my cell phone charger... I don't need to glove box light cuz the glove box is way too small to need one anyways...

would this work?

ive seen they have the things that you plug into the outlet that make 1 outlet into 2, but in my car the lil compartment that the cig lighter is in is way too small for one of those

You can use the light on the glove box to trigger a relay that will operate the neon's.

you could buy a 1 into 2 cigarette lighter plug, cut off the 1 plug, hardwire it in under your dash or somewhere out of sight, then plug in your neons in the 2 output plugs ( which will be outta sight) and just run your wires to whereever it is u want to put the neons.

another opption is to just tap of the power wire running to cig lighter and install a switch in line to the neons, this way your cig liter is left open and you run you neons off of a higher amp cercit. this is what i did in my van and it provided for a clean install

this is exactly what i did.. just snip off teh cig lighter.. if u run the wires and hide them it looks cleaner on the car.. to me its just a do it urself if u just plug it straight in.. looks more pro if u hardwire it into a fused circuit.. there is not one wire in my car that shows...
