I have two sets of component 6.5.

Focal Polyk 165K2 100RMS - 200max and a pair of Diamond Audio M661 rated at 20-170.  I have an A/D/S amp that puts out 90RMS *2 channels and a Kicker that puts out 150RMS *2 channels.

I want the cleaner Focals in the doors and flush the 1.75" tweeters.  My problem, which is driving me insane, which amp do I use for the Focal--The more powerful Kicker or the beautiful sounding A/D/S?

These Focals I hear need a lot of power.  I have had years of experience with a/d/s amps and I love them and do not have a lot of experience as to how clean the kickers are for mids and highs (I've always used kicker for subs).

Can anyone help?

Hi Ethan

It is the 705 five channel which puts out 400RMS for my subs (two Orion 15s) and I'm bridging the other four channels to produce 150 or 160 RMS*2 for my front Diamond M661.  In the rear I have two kickers 6x9s hooked up to the a/d/s/ PQ10--one of the 6x9's woofer went out-- That's why i got the focal components and will replace the 6x9 with the Diamond in the rear and focal in the front.

Any advise?

Hi Greenmachine

Wouldn't the a/d/s/ run too hot at 2ohms?

As it is, it heats up after about 1.5 hrs of peak use.  As a matter of fact, the Kicker heats up and it comes equiped with a cooling fan.  Do you know what the best cure is for cooling my amps?
