By solid, do you mean it doesn't flash? Check the bulbs front and back- if there isn't enough load to trip the flasher, it won't work. I'll hazard a guess and say the back one- have someone stand on the brakes, and check to see if your left rear lamp lights up. Also, make all the usual checks- sockets and wiring are still intact, the grounds are still OK, and so on.

yes i do mean they dont flash. just the left signal though. the right one is fine. the brake lights work, and parking lights work, so im pretty sure its not the bulbs. if its the switch, wouldnt it just not turn on at all?
I just did all the wiring checks, and everything seems fine. its both the front and the back signal flashers on the right, so im thinking its something internal more. any other suggestions?
thanks

What year is the van? if it's a older one it might just be a burnt bulb causing a sold flash on the leftside(if the right side still blinks) have a feeling your desribing a older van..that said there will be two flashers one for your turn signles and one for the hazzards

cheers
