Sorry the ground wire thingy didn't work....

Only thing I could suggest now would be to break out a multimeter and find the required connections the old fashioned way.  You'll need a +12 volts constant, +12 volts switched, +12 volts power antenna, 8 speaker wires, and possibly also a factory amp amp turn-on (+12 volts).

Finally, I don't know if you had a chance to check out the wiring info we have for the 95-96 altimas, but at this point you might as well take a look at that too.

this may be a long shot guys, but you may have a bad ignition switch.

some of the older nissans were notorious for having loose ignition switches.

if you key is loose fitting, that would be my guess.  the factory keyswitches go bad because the switch is not made to support the extra weight of the keys and such. (also from normal wear.)

try running the stereo hot all the time and see if it acts up.

ex 12 year car stereo, alarm techie.
now in res/com low voltage,voice/data

I think you're onto something with the ignition switch thing. That seems to be the common thread as every time the HU dies it's after I shut off/turn on the ignition.

Yesterday, when I had the dash apart (yet again), I took the ignition switch out. I was gonna disassemble it, but it seemed there were alot of spring loaded connections in there. Anyway, I put it back in and the radio worked for longer than it has for two months. I think I'm gonna put a new one in (nothing to lose at this point).

I did find someone on Altimas.net who had the same radio problem with their 94 Altima. I e-mailed him, but he hasn't got back to me.

Well, I put a new ignition switch in this sunday. No change. Any other ideas/leads would be greatly appreciated.
