please help with gm wire harness

hi all

i am having problems installing audio stuff in my chevy s10 2002. does anybody know the function of each wire color on the wire harness .

listen it would be so much easier to just by a wire harness and it would be better for you cause you would not be cutting the factory wire harness. it will be better also cause it will let you replace the factory radio for any reason. and the cost of it is like 7-10 bucks you will be so much happier and so will life me much easier.

 hello Jon

 let me explain, i need to an amp to the existing head unit which doesn't have RCA out puts so i need to find out which cables are for what speaker and what polarity.

The plug that goes into the back of your factory radio should look like it would plug into this harness.  This harness follows the EIA coloring standards.  Therefore, to determine which factory wires do what in your vehicle, all you have to do is just match up the wires in the picture with the corresponding pins on your factory harness.

However, as always I highly recommend that you verify all of the wires with a digital multimeter, before you tap into them.
