Alarm Remote

I just bought a 1998 mazda 626 it has a aftermarket alarm installed but there is no remote.....I search for the maker but no name is on it just a modle number...? what type of remote can be program to work this alarm.....I do have the factory remote entry.....Remote.... can this be used

hey......I had to find a manual for a Checkmate alarm once, and couldn't find anything on the internet. After a lot of research, I stumbled onto Checkmate's phone number, gave them a call, and they were able to fax me the schematics for the alarm. (I had told them how many buttons I had on the remote, though, and what color the LED was). Since you don't have a remote, you might be able to give them that number from the module, and maybe you can find out what alarm it is. Then....(phew)....you can probably find a replacement remote.
