Good question, my current setup has 2volt and i've been thinking of going the 4 volt route to get the amps to pump out more juice, maybe the extra voltage allows for more 'headroom' in an SQ setup, but SPL is what i want so anyone out there- for SPL....2volt ok or 4-8volt preffered?
I need more power.....

The higher your pre out voltage is the cleaner and more noise free signal is going into your amps etc. Think of it as the signal strength of a radio station. If you have a strong signal the sound is better, but the weaker the signal gets the crappier the sound gets.

So would a line amplifier work to increase voltage?

You can also use an electronic X over. It will allow you to adjust the frequencies as well as increase your pre out voltage to your amps.

Do you know any electronic Xovers that have 3 inputs and 3 outputs because my headunit has 3 preouts and I'd like to maintain the unit control?

OTherwise I'd have to buy 3 line drivers, do you know how much each of them usually run for?

You will want a 6 channel (3 inputs and outputs) 2 channels front, 2 rears, and 2 sub. Be sure to stick to a good quality manufacture.
