3 wire or 4 wire starter kill ?

I've got a hornet 725t and going to upgrade to a 554t . The starter kill that came with the 725t is a three wire starter kill. This is hooked up to my car at the moment and is function properly . The 554t has a starter kill with 4 wires . Should I change the starter kill to the 4 wire version or can i use the 3 wire one ? Do you need the 4 wire starter kill to perform remote start ?"I'm So Loud It Hertz"

well either starter kill will do but the three wire starter kill is using the starter wire as an ignition in source to trip the relay when the alarm is sending out a negative. this way is ok but sometimes you may get a short very quick crank of the starter but not long enough to actually start the car. so either way would work but a four wire starter kill you connect it to an ignition wire so that when the alarm is armed it sends out the negative on pin 86 adn the ignition wire would be the positive and this way the starter wire is disconected even before starting . or cranking.Jon

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

The way i have my 3 wire starter kill is that , only when the ignition switch is on then the starter kill is energized because it send positive to one end of the coil and the neg is from the armed output . according to the 4 wire one, the coil is only energized when the ignition is on and car armed .Am i right ? if so the both seem to be the same ... i have the 3 wire and it work good- no short quick crank "I'm So Loud It Hertz"
