the wiring diagrams that 12 gives you are wrong dont anyone use them i wired my alarm up the way 12 told me to and i fried my central door locking unit 600$ it will cost to fix . i hope the diagrams from the other members are good i will be checking them with the nissan mech. that fixes my cay so that wont happen again

Let's assume the information for the door locks in your vehicle, which you didn't mention what vehicle it is, was incorrect, you're still at fault for not verifying each lead you tied into regardless of who supplied you with the information. It's a shame that you feel the need to point the finger at someone else for your own mistake. Maybe next time you'll use a frickin meter.

I read that 3 times just trying to understand it. If you didnt check the wires maybe you should not have done the install.

Hi skipastaria, what vehicle was this in? Which diagram are you referring to? And please refresh my memory, when did I tell you to do anything? BTW, I just checked your previous posts and you recently asked and received information from a couple of members regarding door locks in a 2000 Maxima in multiple threads with the same topic name. Is this the vehicle you fried the door lock module in?

its funny how all you boys have something to say when it pertains to the info you give out but when something is needed you just sit there and scrath your head which must be a vacatin for your ballz except for the administrator whom actually was inquisitive of what happened and the use of name calling from you others was uncalled for to maybe you guys need your membership revoked till you grow up to a mans status

No ones membership will be revoked because you posted your opinions about this site. It's hard to type constructive criticism on posts without making it seem harsh ( but name calling is definitely not called for ) .

skipastaria, you have to realize that information received ( not only to this site but other forums as well  ) has to be verified by the installer at the time of installation. Assuming that all wire color codes are right will end up in burned out modules or CPU's ( like you experienced ). I stand by the information that I give out, but inevitably you as the installer will ahve to double check the information.

As far as the information that the other member's gave you, it looks alright to me. It is a simple type A system (-) pulse. 99.9 % of the systems out on the market come with a (-) trigger system or a alternating polarity system where the installer has to either ground or use 12 volts power for the polarity wire. The Crimestopper uses the RED wire for an external relay to power pin 86. This is an output only wire and has 12 volts power on it.

Well now we know the problem isn't with the12volt or the information you received from any member on this forum, but what you did and didn't do with the information. You asked for information for your vehicle in three separate topics and each time members replied (when needed). If you would have used a meter to verify each of the wires you found, you wouldn't be in the predicament that you are in now. It's obvious that you created this topic to vent your frustrations as a result of your mistake, but you should be ticked off with yourself. Hopefully you and everyone that reads this thread learned a valuable lesson... Always verify all wiring with your meter before making any connections! It's a message that's repeated throughout this site and by it's members.

heh, things like this kinda suck...
just for the record any of the diagrams that I have used personally were correct, verified by myself of course with my multimeter...I use them as guides sometimes on unfamiliar vehicles because it is a bit quicker to test the colored wire specified in the diagrams than to poke around blindly and have to test every single lead in a harnerss...
I feel for you in your situation of making an assumption, but from what it looks like to me, Jeff is right...I cant really see anything wrong with what has been posted...maybe there was an issue somewhere else that caused this to happen, of maybe (but doubtful) the manufacturer went out of spec with the colors...
please take this as a valuable learning experience...never trust anything you havent tested yourself...

I bought a DMM before I started work on my car.  I was afraid of doing something like this-damage to the vehicle.  All the info I get from here or anywhere else I do verify before I go ahead and wire it.  I've learned so much in the past two months.  Still, so much MORE to learn.
