I've installed an Avital Avistart 3300 on my Ford Expedition.  I've been tinkering with the remote start for a few days, but I finally decided to forget about it.  Anyway, as I finished hooking everything up, I was testing it, and it's giving me 4 chirps on disarm, and blinking the LED in groups of 3.  According to the manual, this indicates that the system was triggered "in my absence"(even though I was standing right there) and that "Zone 3 (Door trigger)" was violated.  So it's essentially telling me that somebody opened my door.

When I hooked up the door trigger circuit, I only hooked up the negative trigger, since there was no mention of a positive door trigger in any of the wiring diagrams I've seen.  Do I need to hook up the "positive door trigger" wire as well?  If so, where do I hook it up?

Thanks in advance - you guys have been really helpful so far!

Thanks for the input.  I definitely didn't arm the alarm with the door open.  It registers this violation regardless of where the wires are hooked up - I even disconnected the door input, and it still registered the same fault.   The ignition doesn't reset it, either - after I disarm and start the engine, the LED continues to give me the 3 blink pattern.  It only stops when I get out and arm the alarm again.

I'm hoping Jeff from Velocity Motors can help me out, 'cause I'm out of ideas :-(

Ford typically uses positive door triggers and your use of the negative trigger input is likely the reason you are seeing a door violation.

Ford does typically use a (+) trigger but the Expedition uses a (-) system for this year and model. What you can try to do is use the (+) dome light activation wire instead of the door trigger wire. You may have to relay & diode isolate all the wires ( grab all wires from each door ) and wire up the relay like this: DIAGRAM A

Test the domelight wire forst so make sure that it catches all doors if the (-) wire doesn't work properly for you.
