help with autopage rf-310

If you have the Passlock I, you should have a security light on your dash board that turns on when you turn the key to on, and then should turn off shortly after you have started the car. I have never seen a Cavalier that didnt have the passlock, so I am pretty sure you have it. I have had a lot of trouble with bypassing Cavalier Passlock I systems when using universal bypass modules, so I have drawn up a few diagrams that use relays and a resistor (or trimpot). Take a look at Diagram #8 on this page if you are interested in a bypass diagram. Passlock I Temporary Bypass Diagram #8 To get the resistence value: Strip back the Black wire (ORANGE / Black on Trucks). Start the car with the key, then cut the yellow passlock wire. strip back the key side of the yellow wire and take a DMM and put one lead on the key side of the yellow wire and the other on the ORANGE / Black wire. Record the resistence, then reverse the two leads and record the resistence. Dial in the higher of the two resistences recorded into a trimpot (or buy a resistor within 5% of the measured value) and set it up using two standard 30 amp automotive relays according to the diagram. The passlock wires are thin wires that can be found in the main ignition harness. If you cannot identify them, you can remove the shroud and grab them coming from the key cylinder. Oh yeah, and as far as entering programming mode, keep trying, sometimes it is easy to make mistkaes when pressing the programming switch on those autopage units.J Rilla

i've had this problem with autopae alarms as well, i've found that you have to do the 4 button pushes as fast as possible for best results, other than that keep on trying, your on the right trackJust a Guy, Wiring up those Vehicals
